Open Position — Infant

TITLE: Assistant Teacher

PURPOSE OF POSITION: To support teachers and program directors as they plan and conduct the daily program for a group of children, including assisting with curricula implementation, physical facility preparation and maintenance, and parent or caregiver communication as needed.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to relate to and care for young children in a positive, sensitive, and safe manner.

  • Typing and computer skills, including knowledge of and proficiency with Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and web-based applications.

  • Evidence of a negative tuberculin test, necessary vaccinations, and good health and physical condition (e.g., ability to carry small children, get up and down from the floor to play with children).

  • No findings from a background check through the Family Care Safety Registry.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES:

  • Self-confidence, initiative, and judgment to prevent or handle a crisis.

  • Ability to recognize and document individual and group behaviors.

  • Experience working with children in child care, educational, or related settings.

  • Good communication skills; both written and verbal.

  • Good organization skills, including time management, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.

Open Position — Toddler

TITLE:  Teacher

PURPOSE OF POSITION: To plan and conduct the daily program for a group of children, including curricula development and implementation, physical facility preparation and maintenance, staff and intern supervision, and parent or caregiver communication.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Nine credit hours in early childhood education or a related field with some experience in the early childhood education field desired.

  • Ability to relate to and care for young children in a positive, sensitive, and safe manner.

  • Evidence of sufficient self-confidence and judgment to supervise others constructively or experience managing and supervising staff.

  • Typing and computer skills, including knowledge of and proficiency with Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and web-based applications.

  • Evidence of a negative tuberculin test, necessary vaccinations, and good health and physical condition (e.g., ability to carry small children, get up and down from the floor to play with children).
